These skis can be everything but boring. They can be rough and tough like a Corvette without electronic. They can be useless if you pick wrong parts for tunning. We can't promise, you will ever find your optimal setting. If you do, you will be the only one in the world with such setting - if you don't decide to share it.
The picture above shows the basic idea. The glinding elements are not linked to better show the principle. In reality the front and the rear gliding element should be linked to improve safety in deep snow, on moguls, edges, ...
The revolutionary idea about these skis is not in a fact that you can disassemble them and keep them in a suitcase.
The main goal is to enable the user to discover performances which are not possible with classical ski construction.
Imagine a car with no springs and no dampers. Only changing the whole chassis or the whole body would enable you to change the driveability. That's the case with present ski construction.
Probably you can imagine that modern cars as we know them today, woudn't be possible without the people who decided to use the springs and dampers between the wheels and the chassis.
Beside, if you destroy the front part of one ski, you don't have to buy a new pair. You can change the sliding elements like the tyres on the car. The tyres can have different characteristics, so the gliding elements.
The most important element of these skis is the connection between the gliding elements and the platform (chassis with bindings). The possibilities with this element are almost endless.
